Take 5 Emails

To simplify communication and reduce the number of emails our volunteers receive, the children’s leader Take 5 and the youth leader Take 5 emails will now be consolidated into one Faith Arc Take 5 email going forward.

New National Faith Arc Coordinator

We are happy to share the news with you that in July, Janie Metzger joined our Soul Care Development team as Faith Arc Coordinator.  Faith Arc is the name of our strategy for the spiritual development of a soul in the congregation, with an emphasis on children, youth, young adults, and parents. With over 22 years of experience in public education, Janie will be working with our parents, ministers, teachers, and leaders from around the country to best equip them in their efforts of making disciples of Christ.

Based in the Chicago Metro congregation, Janie can be reached at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by phone at (773) 654-2249.

Bibles for Incoming Students

For 8th graders that will be starting the youth group, please order them an IGNITE Teen Bible and a Catechism Q&A book from our "Order Resources" page on NDI. These books are provided free of charge and are primarily intended for new students, however can be ordered for students that are beyond 8th grade. Facilitators of the Youth THRIVE Small Group discussions should also have these books. To help control inventory and cost, please only order one or both of the books if you know a student or facilitator need them.

Fall 2023 Children's Lessons

For the upcoming semester, we have some exciting updates to streamline the preparation process that include, a single-site/source for all activities, color-coding of lesson segments, call-out boxes with material and supply lists, a printable journal page, links to engaging videos, and a “Take Home Page for Parents” that includes homework. We've also introduced a "Social Emotional Check-In" at the beginning of each lesson to ensure a caring and supportive atmosphere. Please see the “K-5 Users Guide” for more detailed information on these updates. The Sunday School (K-5) lessons are available now. Religious Instruction (6th-7th) lessons will be available by August 15th.
