LGBTQ+ Resources

The NAC-USA’s vision is a church in which people feel at home and, inspired by the Holy Spirit and their love for God, align their lives to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and thus prepare themselves for His return and eternal life.

Our church includes people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ+). Regardless of our awareness, LGBTQ+ people have been, currently are, and will continue to be in our congregations. The body of Christ includes LGBTQ+ people. The question is whether we have created a church that makes them and their family members feel at home and welcome.

Christ calls us to build bridges, not walls. We prevent people from experiencing the Gospel of Jesus Christ when we put up walls to prescribe who belongs in our congregations and under what conditions.

The NAC-USA must stay true to the Gospel of Jesus Christ: A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another as I have loved you (John 13:34). We want our congregations to be bridges for people to move closer and closer to Christ, and that calls us to embrace all people, including LGBTQ+ people.

We want our LGBTQ+ members and their families to know that they are welcome and loved by God. We want them to know that God does not condemn them for who they are. As children of God, we know that it is certainly not appropriate for us to pass judgment on our siblings in Christ. Instead, we desire to worship and experience the fullness of God’s love together with them.

We remain steadfast together in our yearning to follow the Holy Spirit as He moves within our church and seek closeness with our Father through fellowship, reflection, and prayer.
